Giant Crocheted Doily Rug Using Cord

Crocheted Doily Rug Using Cord
If you're thinking about making a crocheted rug, then you may have considered that one can crochet a rug from t-shirt yarn (store bought or homemade), chunky yarn, rag yarn or even rope or cord! Now the thing is, that when crocheting with something other than yarn, the crocheting can get to be very hard on the hands if you're using cotton rope or rags, as they just don't have the same "give" as something like yarn. So here is a great option, just sent to me by a reader who is actually selling this version which was made using my Giant Crocheted Doily Rug Pattern on Etsy. Want to know what she used?

Ta da, she actually used something that I have tried crocheting with but never got around to actually making something, polypropelene craft cord! Craft cord actually comes in a bunch of colors and thicknesses, (this is the thinner version I believe) so there are lots of options, and this cord is stretchy, so the actual crocheting shouldn't be nearly as difficult as with cotton cord or rope. And you can use the leftover to make some small macrame projects to boot!
