Crocheted Heart Wall Hanging
Phew, I finally figured out what to do with my crocheted cherry blossom heart! Ta da, it makes a really adorable little crocheted wall hanging, or maybe it is really a vertical garland, hmmm, not quite sure what to call it, but nonetheless it is truly sweet and quite simple to make. This is the kind of pattern that will look entirely different depending on your choice of colors, so go pastel or bright or even neutral, and the results will be a great way to spread the love.
While you are at it whip up a bunch so you’ll always have a little homemade gift on hand, ah yes, and while you can’t tell from the photos I did actually stiffen this piece with glue to keep it nice and flat, more on that in another post. First we’ve got to get crocheting, so here we go……
Crocheted Heart With Leaves Vertical Garland Pattern
You’ll Need:
- Guage is not important, but I used chunky yarn and a 5mm hook
- 1 cherry blossom centered heart, crocheted according to instructions found here.
- 1 leaf crocheted according to instructions found here
- A second larger leaf
- 2 little circles made by single crocheting 8sc into a magic ring and joining to first stitch with a slip stitch
How To:
The list of elements and links to the patterns are above, except for the second leaf, since I made that one up, and will hopefully post a pattern for that soon.
Now you need to join all the elements as follows:
- Join yarn into center of heart, chain 6 then sc in to bottom right side of larger leaf, and then into bottom left side of smaller leaf.
- Ch7 and sc into pink circle. Then Ch 4 and sc into grey circle. Now sc 10.
- To make loop slip stitch into 5th chain from end. Continue slip stitching down the chain and join third grey circle with a slip stitch.
- Continue slip stitching until you reach top of leaf. Detach yarn and weave in ends.
- Enjoy!
