Simple Rosh HaShana Card Craft To Whip Up Tonight!
Yes indeed I am back from a lovely six week hiatus, and with Rosh Hashana coming up Sunday night now is the time to get crafting! This year I decided to be just a bit traditional and make Rosh HaShana cards for all the neighbors, which I’ll give together with a tiny jar of honey, or as is, the only problem is I’m so in love with the results I’m going to have a hard time giving them away! So make a bunch of sweet Rosh HaShana cards so that you too can save a few, and believe me this card craft is truly so simple you’ll have no trouble making a whole pile. I’m running off to finish up all those card blanks I’ve had hanging around for years, but first, a simple tutorial, ready?
- card stock or water color paper (not necessary really, just use what you have on hand)
- acrylic paint, or gouche paint or watercolor paint
- a fine black permanent marker, pencil (optional I did not use one)
- paint brushes, a large one and a small one
How To:
- Fold and/or cut paper to create card in desired size.
- With paint squeezed out and/or mixed to your desired colors (I just love pink for this, perfect.) quite simply paint either one large apple or a few apple shapes in various sizes on your card. Aim for something that vaguely resembles an apple shape, but the less perfect the better generally. Set aside to dry.
- Using the black fine line permanent marker make stem and leaves, again, no literal leaf shapes just something oblong and pointed, and the stem looks best as a single line.
- Fill in leaf shapes with a black marker or black paint where desired and add small details to leaves with fine black marker.
- Decide whether apples are whole or cut and add details on top of dried paint with black fine marker.
- Ta da, a super sweet card that is a tiny work of art is born! What better way to bring in the new year?
