Crocheted T-Shirt Yarn Star Medallion Stool Cover Pattern
This crocheted stool cover using t-shirt yarn is so quick to make and so much fun. A great project for crocheters of all levels, and really satisfying, take it from me! So gather up some commercial t-shirt yarn, or try this pattern using any variety of yarn or rope, just keep in mind that if you use something that is not stretchy like the t-shirt yarn you will have to tie the cover on with a drawstring on the underside. Okay, lets get started!
A stool is always a handy piece of furniture to move around the house and into the garden!
And what is better than one stool? Two or even three of them!
Here is the stool cover from the back.
And from the front.
Crocheted T-Shirt Yarn Star Medallion Stool Cover Patterh:
You'll Need:
- commercial t-shirt yarn (for best resutls) or yarn you've made yourself, which depending on the age of the garments or yardage that you cut can be fine, not a huge time investment so give it a t
- A N/10mm hook
Chain 4 and join with a slip stitch.
Round 1: With Color A. Ch 3 and dc 11 into ring. Cut off yarn.
Round 2: Wtih Color B. Attach yarn into any space between two dc. Ch 3 and 3 dc into same space. One cluster made. Skip 2 dc, 4 dc into space. Continue around to make 6 clusters. Join to ch3 with a slip stitch. Break off yarn.
Round 3: With Color C. Attach yarn in space between two clusters. Ch 3 (serves as DC) skip 3DC and dc into space. Ch 4 (or 5 if your work bunches too much) and DC into same space. Skip 3 DC, and DC into space. Continue around from * and join to first stitch with slip stitch. You should have a total of 8 ch4 segments.
Round 4: With Color B. Attach yarn in any ch4 space. Ch3 and crochet together 3DC stitches to form a pointed cluster. Ch 6 and make another 4DC cluster in the next ch4 space. Continue around, 8 clusters made. Join to first ch3 with a slip stitch.
Round 5: With Color D: Attach yarn in any ch6 space. 6 sc in 6 chain space, and one sc in top of 4DC cluster around. Join with slip stitch to first stitch. Note: This row can also be made from hdc or DC, depending on needs for increasing diameter of piece.
Round 6: Crochet a row of DC with a single stitch in each stitch from previous row.Increase by crocheting 2DC in a single stitch every ten stitches.
Round 7: Crochet a row of hdc. (or dc if needed to increase diameter). Break off yarn.
Round 8: With Color C: Attach yarn and ch2, hdc around, join to ch2 with slip stitch. Break off yarn. This is the row that should be at the edge of your stool, when cover is placed on stool. You want to stretch cover over stool so cover should be slightly smaller than actual stool diameter. This row will be raised, which is a nice effect. If you'd rather not have a raised row, dc in back loop of hdc around.
Round 9: With Color D: Crocheting in third loop of hdc, dc around.
Round 10: Repeat round 9. Break off yarn (if desired, next row is for underside of my stool, so you could use a small quantity of another color if you like, namely to use it up!)
Round 11: With any color DC around.
That is it! Now weave in your ends with a large yarn needle and enjoy!
Note: I just wrote this on only 4 hours of sleep, so please forgive any mistakes until I have a chance to go over it on Sunday!
