Inspiration For Pineapple Themed Party Decor: Pineapple Graffiti Art!

Isn’t this pineapple graffiti art wonderful? Okay, the fact that it is sprayed on historic brick isn’t so wonderful, so don’t go doing that, but you can make graffiti art in your own space by painting on stretched or non-stretched canvas, plywood, or any large piece of discarded construction material like plasterboard, or mdf. it is true, one generally thinks of pineapples as a summer theme, but even if you don’t live in Australia you can include this in your holiday decor by possilby using a metallic color instead of the yellow, or by simply ignoring convention, which I’d say is the way to go as pineapples are all the rage right now in home decor. If someone is going to use pineapple wall paper then certainly one can decorate with a pineapple theme any time!

If you take a close look at this pineapple, you’ll see that producing something similar is actually quite simple, and could be a wonderful backdrop for a dessert table, or placed at the entrance to a party. Once could also of course go all out and do this on table cloths, and in small scale on napkins, t-shirt, canvas bags, you name it!

I haven’t actually tried this myself, and if I do I’ll surely let you know, but in the mean time if you’d like to try it here are a few tips…….

You’ll Need:

• black spray paint
• yellow and green acrylic paint
• large paint brush
• a spot outdoors to try this, spray paint is toxic
• a mask to avoid breathing fumes is recommended

How To:

1. One can certainly do this with just spray paint, but to avoid all those fumes, I’d say that painting just the black portion with spray paint would work and produce similar results.
2. First paint yellow and green portion with large loose strokes, this may take some practice to get something perfectly imperfect, and a child can probably do the best job at that!
3. After paint is dry, add the black details, after of course you’ve practiced a bit on a piece of scrap material.
4. Small versions done on t-shirts could be great, just make sure to put a piece of cardboard in your t-shirt so paint won’t bleed. You really don’t need fabric paint, believe me regular acrylic will work just fine, you just may need to dilute it a bit, or use fabric paint medium.
