Passover Craft: Make Your Own Patterned Paper

Passover Seder craft plague of darknessIf you are looking for some simple Passover crafts right about now, good for you, there is still a whole week until the Passover holiday starts, which means more than enough time to make some quick crafts to enhance the holiday. For starters, how about getting some black paper and making some of this fun “eyes in the dark” patterned paper that refers to one of the Ten Plagues recounted in the Haggadah? Make a bunch of sheets in no time while you’re taking a few minutes to relax, or give this task to some medium sized kids and you’ll be off to a great start.

I’ve already used the  paper seen here for a fun craft, and I have more suggestions for you as well. Ready to get started? Full steam ahead……

Passover Seder craft plague of darknessYou’ll Need:

  • black card stock
  • a white paint pen, a correction fluid pen, or a white gel pen

Note: Paint pens can be a bit difficult to use at times, and as I discovered correction fluid pens are also moody. I bought 4 correction fluid pens, three really cheap ones that didn’t work at all, and a $2.50 pen that did work and is what I’ve shown here.

How To:

Self explanatory, though depending on how you’ll used your patterned paper you may opt to draw lines as I did.

I have since cut out strips and used them to make Passover napkin rings. You can also use this paper to make a table runner for a kid’s table, to cover some cans to make containers for utensils or even little moden flower vases. Get creative and you’ll be sure to have smiles all around.
