Welcome Back To Craft Schooling Sunday!

After a nice summer break, Craft Schooling Sunday is back, and it is great to reconnect with you all! Thanks so much for joining me here. September, which this year coincides with the Jewsih month of Elul is a month full of possibilities, and after an amazing summer vacation, with so much inspiration and of course lots of photos to share, I am dreaming of crafty succah decorations and handmade Rosh HaShana presents and cards for the neighbors. Just hoping there will be time for it all, as any moment the pace is going to pick up and then, hold on folks! With that in mind I have decided against that momentary whim of hand printing some new fabric panels for the Succah, instead I will embelish the light fixtures I made last year and go with my original plan which is to make a bunch of sunburst mirror decorations from all the plastic techina containers I’ve been collecting all year! That together with everything else we already have will hopefully do the trick…….?

I did not end up painting as much as I’d hoped on my vacation, so I’ve got that creative itch that just needs to be satisfied, and the features from the last party in July, which I’m posting here now are so much fun. I nearly ordered a soap mold and supplies to make some hexigon bee soaps for Rosh HaShana but then I realized that most folks may not even use them, so better to save the $$ and paint some nice cards. Okay, enough of my babble, lets get this party started!

Pillar box blue is always a great source for really creative ideas, and this time is no exception….who else would have dreamed of making flower pillows shaped like the iconic Marrimekko flower print?

Love this fabric covered globe made from foam ball (and half a foam ball for the base) from the scrap shoppe blog, and this fab DIY faux cowskin lampshade from rain on a tin roof.

These hexagon bee soap bars with lavender from celebrating everyday life would be perfect little gifts for Rosh HaShana (almost ordered all the supplies myself today, but maybe not, got so many other supplies to use up first, hmmmm, then again if daughter agrees it is a good idea instead of giving treats this year, maybe I’ll just have to do it, stay tuned!)

These crocheted socks from lilia craft party are fantastic and a great gift idea to dive into as fall approaches, right?

Another fantastic knit fairie, this one is an echinaccea fairy, gotta love it, from Ginx craft, and a card made from a dictionary page that points to part of the message is brilliant, from the sum of their stories.

Great looking quilt square coasters made using wood burning, from the sum of their stories, is, you got it, another great gift idea! Always a good excuse to get crafting, right? You know, like when you are making something instead of doing what you really need to be doing, or making a mess or just plain too busy to pay attention to your family, “it’s for a gift” seems like a great excuse?

A fun tunic maxi dress that would be great to wear in the Succah, from my perspective, or for an exotic vacation, or just because, from style safari. 

Hopefully you don’t need migraine relief, but if you know someone who does, this certainly could be a great…..yes, that is right, GIFT, from busy being Jennifer.
