DIY-hanukkah-wall-hanging
Hanukkah which we call Chanukah actually, is quickly approaching, but there is still time to make a fun drinking straw wall hanging to add a very festive touch to your home! This week I have shared with you how to make drinking straw dreidels, drinking straw starbursts, drinking straw diamond starbursts, and now I present to you the finished product, yippee! After making the elements that I’ve listed, you can certainly figure out how to make the drinking straw menorah, right? Okay, these photos aren’t the greatest, but I’m pressed for time with a million things going on, so they do the job for now. The main thing is, use this next week to fill your home with crafts that anticipate the joyful holiday of Chanukah! And take a look in my archives, that are busting at the seams for many many more ideas if plastic drinking straws aren’t up your alley or you don’t have any on hand. Okay, lets make this fun drinking straw wall hanging, shall we?

How To:

Make all the elements as described in my previous posts, links are right above. Lay them on the floor to determine the arrangement that works for your project. Then using a needle and double thread or thick thread, string all the elements together by joining each element to the next with a separate length of thread. I went around the beads twice with the thread to hold them in place.

That is really it, take this idea and make something unique to you! Wishing you an amazing week of Hanukkah crafting!

Drinking-straw-hanjkkah-craftI hung this Hanukkah wall hanging in my kitchen on the side of a floor to ceiling cabinet, and since the surface is formica I just went ahead and taped each vertical string to the cabinet. Couldn’t be simpler, and it works. So do what works for you too, just get crafting!

I love this, and seeing it expand with the menorah and the snowflakes. Inspired! and started some “dreidels” using a variation, instead of straws I am rolling up origami paper to make the “straws”. It is so fun and so many colors and patterns to use!! Thank you!! Blessings and shalom!!
