Super Simple Balloon Bouquet In A Pinch (Or On The Road!)

Balloon Bouquet For Birthday

What do you do when you find yourself in a farm house deep in the mountains of New York (and thus with not a lot of craft supplies on hand) and need to celebrate some family birthdays with minimal effort? Make a balloon bouquet! This is my first balloon bouquet as far as I can remember and was the perfect little party decoration to whip up in no time, because on account of cooking up a storm for our extended family get together there just wasn't any time left for my usual grand birthday decorating effort. (And fortunately the celebration wasn't for my kids, but rather my nieces who have no expectations when it comes to birthdays, phew.)

So this balloon bouquet together with some princess crowns and birthday girl medals that I picked up at the dollar store turned out to be perfect! A few balloons added to our chocolate covered cheerios cereal cake, and a party was born! So next time you need to whip up something for a birthday celebration, or are even planning ahead and looking for something simple and cute, go fro a balloon bouquet, or even a bunch of them!

Balloon Bouquet In Glass

You'll Need:

  • small balloons, at least 15 for a small bouquet
  • wooden skewers
  • a vase or glass

How To:

Blow up a bunch of balloons, say 15 or so. Balloons can vary in size. Simply poke the skewer through the knot of the balloon. You can hide the tip of the skewer within the knot if desired, or if you'll be placing the skewers into a cake or a piece of foam, slide the balloon down to the non-pointed side of the skewer. Place skewers in a vase, and voila, a balloon bouquet is born. So simple and festive and super quick!

For centerpieces for a bat mitzvah or celebration of any kind one can certainly use balloons all in one color for a more sophisticated look. And one can add all sorts of other elements to the bouquet if you have time, such as a central medallion that is higher than the balloons to serve as a table number or message bearer of some kind, or small flags at the base of the balloons, just for starters. Use our own creativity to make something fabulous!
