Washi Tape Decorations
Washi tape is the number one simplest way to add an adorable crafty touch to any occasion. Need some quick party decorations? Make washi tape flags and washi tape garlands. Need a cake topper? Again, washi tape to the rescue. And need to fill a wall with something fun, washi tape can do the trick, though I have yet to try that one, even though I really must! Oh, and almost forgot, need to transform a plain box or paper into something special for gift wrapping, you already know the answer, washi tape! Oh, and washi tape can transform a plain box of matches into special washi tape matches!
I made this sweet little washi tape garland as a prop for a little photo shoot that I'll be sharing with you soon, and realized that just the idea of covering cute stuff you might have around your house with washi tape accessories is a great idea to remember when you need to add a festive atmosphere to your home.
I just love how my plastic bear looks with his washi tape scarf, and those matroyshka salt shakers that I couldn't resist picking up from the dollar store, well a little washi tape does the trick!
How To Make A Washi Tape Flag Garland
You'll Need:
- yarn or string
- washi tape
- scissors
How To:
The red polka dot flags are made with two widths of washi tape, while the yellow flags are made from one width. Simply place piece of washi tape under the string, such that string touches mid point of tape. Fold tape over and burnish. Cut a triangle out of the bottom of the flag. Continue to add flags in this manner and make a garland to tape to a wall, attach to skewers to make a cake topper, or even wrap your garland around a gift.
That is it, enjoy!
