Succulent Party Favor Using Miniature Plastic Trophies

I love the look of antique silver trophies filled with fresh cut flowers from the garden, though no such trophies have appeared in my life, so for the time being I am having fun making little succulent party favors or succulent place holders using small plastic trophies and succulent cuttings from my container garden. It really is sweet isn't it? And of course you can add a nice little tag if you like, or even make up some small labels to commemorate the event. And even if you aren't having a party, so a bunch of these small trophies filled with succulent cuttings or already rooted tiny plants looks great just about anywhere!

You'll Need:

• small plastic trophies
• succulent cuttings or small already rooted plants
• fine gravel
• soil

How To:

1. Put about 1cm of gravel at the bottom of your trophy and then fill with soil.
2. Stick cutting into soil and keep soil moist but be careful never to let the soil get soggy, as there is no drainage.
3. Cuttings root quilckly, while others take quite a while, but not to worry, as long as the succulent remains green, all is well!
4. When your succulent grows so large that the little trophy tips over, replant it to a large container, and start again!

it also just occurred to me that one could certainly hang these little trophies too, and of course use them as tiny vases for flowers as well. So if you happen upon some of these plastic party favor trophies I'd say snatch them up! You could also decoupage them with gorgeous paper for a truly beautiful little party favor, or even wrap them in yarn, all over or just here and there. That is all for now, I must remember to try and buy some more for myself!
