Welcome to The Best Of Craft Schooling Sunday: Kid’s Crafts
Craft Schooling Sunday is taking a summer holiday break until September 3rd, so Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday "The Best Of" a round-up of projects from Craft Schooling Sunday parties that took place prior to 2016. Going through some of the old parties, and especially those from around three plus years ago, I realized how much this party has grown, not just in size but in the creativity that is contributed and the quality of photography as well. So pat yourselves on the back and sit back and enjoy a series of round-ups, which I'll be posting every Sunday until the party resumes. This week I'm featuring the best of…

Oleander Is A Hardy Bush With Lovely Blooms!
Are you familiar with Oleander? If not I've got some great news for you, well mostly great that is unless you have kids that tend to eat plants. Oleander is poisonous, but then again so are many plants, so just use your best judgement on that one! Okay back to the good news: oleander is a wonderfully hardy bush that is drought resistant and the kind of thing often planted next to the highway here in Israel on account of its resiliant nature! Stick a large oleander in a little pot and it will still live, maybe not flourish but certainly live! The oleander seen here actually lived in a…

Creativity With Modeling Clay: Create A Whole Village!
Aren't these little modeling clay plants growing in a field just the sweetest? I previously shared with you a pine cone orange orchard craft and a popsicle stick playground craft and now I'm sharing with you that they were both a pert of of a large table-top village that my son's class made in order to illustrate some of the concepts that they were learning in a particular tractate of the Talmud. Actually the class made four such villages as the kids were divided into teams, and those four tables holding their precious work took up a whole classroom, it was really such a wonderful sight to see, and only…

A DIY Teacup Pin Cushion Is Adorable And Truly Useful!
When a neighbor's child showed up at my door just before Passover with all of the things they didn't want, but thought I might, this little tea cup was tucked in there, and I immediately thought, ah yes, pin cushion or candle? And now you know the answer: tea cup pincushion! It really is just as cute as can be, and useful to boot! You can glue the cup to the plate, or better yet, don', as the plate becomes a useful catchall when you are in the middle of a sewing project. Want to make one? It is really so very simple, love that!

Welcome To The Best Of Craft Schooling Sunday: Crafting In Color
Today is Tisha B'Av, the most solemn day on the Jewish calendar, (actually it was yesterday, but we don't observe solemn holidays on Shabbat) yet in keeping with Jewish thought, even in the darkest of dark there is color, and the hope for more color, and so today, in the spirit of delving into the hope within our mourning as a people, I present to you a series of crafts that are all about the joy of creativity and the joy of contributing to the world. Wishing all of those fasting this 25 hour fast an easy fast! Craft Schooling Sunday is taking a summer holiday break until September 3rd,…

A Visit To Pekiin And the Gravesite Of Rabbi Oshaya
During an outing during the week of Passover we visited the cave of Rebbi Shimon in the historic town of Pekiin, and also visited the gravesite of Rabbi Oshaya nearby. It was a very lovely spot indeed, and quite moving to see the crowd of folks who arrived to pray in this special spot.
