Front Post Double Crochet Stitch Creates A Deep Raised Rib
Hey fellow crocheters, isn't it fun when you come upon a new stitch that you really ought to have know, but didn't? That is what happened with me and the front post double crochet stitch, which produces a deep raised ridge. Of course I have heard of the stitch, as it is used quite often to create crocheted cables and such, just never tried it. In the past I created ribbed crocheted fabric for my ribbed crocheted cowl, and ribbed crocheted hand warmers by simply crocheting in the back loop of the stitch, which is nice, but not enough of a rib for my current needs. If you are up…

If you're like me, and you're trying to mend your ways in the sugar department it may just be advisable to skip the baking and just assemble something from bakery bought items……..and that is where this…

Lantana In Bloom Is Stunning And Drought Tolerant
I have a soft spot for Lantana, the plant which is characterized by balls of colorful flowers that are made up of clusters of the sweetest little flowers you've ever seen. And so earlier this week when I was out and about with my camera one morning, I just had to capture a few shots of these beauties…….. to share with you and to remind myself to plant a bunch in a garden that I've designed and landscaped, as well as in my own container garden. The wonderful thing about lantana is that it comes in intense reds and oranges, as well as in a color combo of light pinks…

The Thorny Caper Weed Now In Bloom Leads To An Interesting Discovery!
The thorny caper, which generally grows as a weed here in Israel, has such a lovely exotic flower, that one can't help but notice it! I've seen this "weed" growing all over the place, and have always thought that it was much too lovely for something that can be a bit obnoxious. And as you'll see from all the photos that follow in this post, I was atually quite captivated by its beauty earilier this week. The funny thing is that I had no idea what this plant actually was called, and had no success in my google search, until I remembered that I have seen the same plant growing…
