Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday!
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! We had a wonderful Shavuot holiday, and now let the summer begin! Yesterday, Thursday, was a day called isru chag, an extension of the holiday so to speak that occurs on holidays that are actually two day holidays outside of Israel, such as the eighth day of Passover, Simchat Torah, and Shavuot. My kids are off from school, while their cousins outside of Israel are actually celebrating a second day of the holiday. We love our holidays, but are always quite relieved not to have to celebrate that second day.
Yesterday, since they were off from school my tweens actually took it upon themselves to set up our pool all by themselves …and I was so happy to see them taking some initiative to make something actually happen. The pool is now full of water, the filter is chugging away, and shortly, after all the preparations for shabbat are complete my kids will jump in and enjoy. Ahhhhh, what a great feeling, and actually just sitting in a comfortable chair next to this 3 meters diameter pool feels like vacation, not just because of the pool, but because of the gorgeous mountain views, and the overall feeling of peace and quiet, which is especially so as shabbat approaches. Come visit sometime, you just have to experience it yourself to understand!
And since I'm now thinking that the chair next to the pool is calling my name, I present you with the features from last week's party:
A great tutorial for transferring images to wood from repurpose and upcycle, and a simple summer tote to whip up with your favorite fabric, from flamingo toes.
Adorable owls from paper lanterns from life's little treasures, and a calming unicorn glitter jar from living lavida holoka.
Hexagon patchwork chair covers from upcycled jeans from pillar box blue, and a hexagon frame succulent planter from duct tape and denim.
Love this half-square triangle quilt from flamingo toes, and this fun printable book for dad that kids fill up with drawings and sentiments. so sweet, from homestead 128.
Lovely flamingo on a shutter with gorgeous felt flowers wall art from flamingo toes.
Whimsical DIY plastic lawn flamingo sprinkler from rain on a tin roof.
Fun monogrammed notebooks from the mandatory mooch, and a DIY mermaid headband from growing up gabel.
DIY red white and blue bauble necklace from bombshell bling, and fun paper firecrackers to craft from tried and true blog.
Fun DIY cupcake stands from rain on a tin roof, and fabric covered bracelets from the style safari.
Add some primitive style to your decor (like this chicken feeder plate rack) with tips from junque cottage, and great tips for painting fabric upholstered items from repurpose and upcycle.
A lovely look at a hillside dessert garden from hillhouse homestead, and a stainless steel washing machine tub is transformed into a great coffee table from Penny's treasures.
That is is for the features, what have you been up to?
