Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday!
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! I hope everyone is well, and staying safe, and using any extra down time for creativity! Time is just flying by and I can’t believe another week has passed, where did it go? Fortunately I have been working on an art journal, so I do see some progress there, but it is very slow going as each page is a work of art……..or at least that is the direction the project is taking. The next journal I start will have to be something a bit quicker, maybe big brush lettering quotes with a few tiny illustrations……then again I’d have to learn brush lettering! There is something about art journaling that just magically takes one away from the clock, so do be aware of that, on the other hand, that can also be a good thing?
My teen daughter is using this time to learn portrait photography, so I’m also helping her with that a bit, watching the classes together, and helping with choosing and cropping photos to give to the neighbors who have agreed to lend out their kids for practice photo sessions! It is truly exciting to see one of my children find joy in creativity, and at much earlier age than I did! Now if I can just convince her to forget about pursuing a degree in some kind of serious/boring work and go for design/illustration/photography, well that will be fantastic, as then maybe we can even work together! Or at the very least convincing her to take over this blog (if such a thing still exhists) in another 30 years or so will not be such a challenge? Okay, enough about the future, lets concentrate on having a productive and inspiring day, and the features from last week’s party (with some from the previous week as well) can certainly help with that!
Whoops, almost forgot to add that on Monday night we celebrate the holiday of L’Ag B’Omer, usually a HUGE party in my neck of the woods, in which around 1/2 a million visitors usually arrive to visit the gravesite of Rebbi Shimon Bar Yochai in the town of Meron, just across the valley from our home. This year there will be four or five designated bon fires lit by community leaders, but no visitors are allowed to Meron, and all the streets in the area are closed. Sigh. Instead of enjoying a large community bonfire and a visit to Meron by day for another bonfire lighting and haircut celebrations for 3 year old boys, we’ll be hanging out on our porch with the neighbors on their porches, playing music (not otherwise allowed during this period as we are in an mourning period) and having a barbeque. Such is life this year. Okay, now onto the features……..

Thanks Michele, yes, and this time together is precious as she is about to fly the coop next year, or at least that is her plan, Corona virus and school acceptance is a bit dicey right now, so will have to see what the future brings!

So many awesome features! Many of them have caught my eye. I especially like the baby blanket made from striped crochet blocks, and the tea pot that’s “pouring” into the tea cup.
