Creativity With Modeling Clay: Create A Whole Village!
Aren't these little modeling clay plants growing in a field just the sweetest? I previously shared with you a pine cone orange orchard craft and a popsicle stick playground craft and now I'm sharing with you that they were both a pert of of a large table-top village that my son's class made in order to illustrate some of the concepts that they were learning in a particular tractate of the Talmud.
Actually the class made four such villages as the kids were divided into teams, and those four tables holding their precious work took up a whole classroom, it was really such a wonderful sight to see, and only then did I fully understand those paint splotches on my son's clothing as well as his request for Playmobil people for the project!
The boys did a great job, and one of the things that particularly impressed me was their creative use of modeling clay to make many of the elements. Here are just a few that I was able to capture that evening, maybe you'll be inspired to encourage the little ones in your life to make a village of their own!

Love that parking area!
These grapes on the vine were my absolute favorite! I never would have thought of using pipe cleaners this way, and the results are simple and fantastic. So get out a huge piece of cardboard to use as a base, together with some simple supplies and let the creativity flow. That indeed is a great way to spend a hot summer afternoon, for a week or so!
