Summer is almost here, which means it is time to start a new creative practice, even if just for a few months. I suggest getting a sketchbook and working in it daily, whether it be drawing, painting, writing and drawing, collage, you name it. There is something about a sketchbook that just works for so many, and so while I am still quite new at it, I will take the advice of those much more experienced in the realm of art and illustration. A Peek In My Sketchbook
At long last this past summer I started working in a sketchbook in an attempt to go out of my comfort zone, and while it wasn’t easy (on account of the fear of making bad art that is then stuck in a book…) I was thrilled with my progress. Dear Readers, I think the time has finally arrived, not only to start being consistent with the creative practice of keeping a sketchbook, but also sharing some of the results with you! Truthfully all the illustrators that I admire keep really great sketchbooks, so I realize that there must be something to it!
