Marigolds Are Annuals That Re-Seed Themselves, Perfect For The Busy Gardener!
Marigold seedlings, Angela Altomare, and tiny blooming marigolds, from plants planted in summer 2016! I love the color orange, and so of course that means that I also love orange marigolds…….not the big puffy balls so much, but rather those that tend to be smaller, as you can see in my photo here. As I recall, last year I planted a few tiny marigold plants here and there in my container garden, and now, a year or so later after a cold winter, there are tiny marigold seedlings coming up everywhere, many of whom have already flowered, or are even producing miniature marigolds. So exciting! Now granted, these little seedlings are…

DIY Snowglobes Using Recycled Jars
Okay dear readers, here is it, my daughter's current number one favorite craft, made by her, photographed by me, and of course encouraged by me as well! DIY snow globes using recycled jars has been on my mind for months, and I keep wanting to make them for specific holidays and just never get around to it. Fortunately my daughter got bitten by the creative bug and finally decided to put those baby food jars and that glycerin waiting patiently in the cabinet to good use. We are just thrilled with the results and just need to find some more subject material to make some more! DIY snow globes can…

Angry Bird Drawing Exercise With Colored Pencils
Drawing with colored pencils can be so much fun, especially if one draws cute little objects, like this collection of plastic angry bird pencil toppers. My daughter did this entirely on her own, only showing it to me after the fact, and I just love what she did. I'm so pleased to see evidence that her drawing skills are moving forward on account of her weekly drawing and painting class! I think she did a great job giving these little guys volume, and the proportions are good too, skills her teacher is certainly working on with her. And the self motivation to practice on her own, well one really can't…

Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday!
Welcome to craft schooling sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! As always this party is such a fantastic source of inspiration, thanks to all of the great ideas shared by so many creative bloggers each week! I've been busy this week trying my hand at crocheting some items for a sweet little 1 1/2 year old, but given that I can only use the yarn available at my local store, I really had to create my own patterns……..and guess what, I learned so much I just want to keep on crocheting ……of course I do need to pause to photograph and share my efforts, not to…

Propogating Lipstick Plant From Cuttings
Just before Purim I treated myself to a Lipstick vine, Aeschynanthus radicans, as it was reasonably priced for its size, and well, I just couldn't resist! There were a few buds forming, and so I took my new friend home with a bit of excitement. Transporting vines can be a bit tricky, so a few stems were injured in the process, prompting me to do a little research as to whether I could use them for propogation. And guess what my friends, the answer is yes, lipstick vine is simple to propogate from cuttings, yippee! And even more interesting is that the stems that I had to remove had buds…

Watercolor Butterflies Painting Lesson
I'm thankful to my fourteen year old daughter who has been doing some watercolor paintings and supplying me with some material that is simple to photograph and share with you! Of course my joy goes way beyond that…..I'm so happy that she is following in my footsteps in the creativity department, yippee! As I write this she is searching the house for some little plastic toys to make some DIY snowglobes, a creative energy surge that I surely recognize and am more than happy to encourage. Ah yes, and more blog material for busy mom who can't seem to find time to photograph all those things she has been crocheting………
