DIY Glitter Snowflakes From Upcycled Plastic Baskets
There is something just irresistable about glitter and I have to say it has been way too long since I’ve ventured into the glitter department, and now I can’t wait to use up the rest of the bags waiting in that plastic bin labeled glitter! For my first glitter project of the season I choose to make glitter snowflakes using the plastic berry basket snowflakes that were patiently awaiting their fate for a good few weeks, and the results are truly wonderful. Yes, it is true, glitter does make a bit of mess, but I think it is a good thing as long as the glitter stays out of your…

Recycled Berry Basket Snowflakes!
Okay dear readers, let the Chanukah crafting begin! Due to my computer still not back home from the repair shop, I’ve been crafting like I used to, and wow, it is so rewarding to come up with all kinds of ideas, some of which actually make it to the finish line, and others, well……Making snowflakes from the bottom of plastic berry baskets is not my idea, I found an unattributed photo somewhere, but I realised yesterday that this is basically an eco-conscious way of making snowflakes from plastic canvas, which is totally a “thing.” Plastic canvas snowflakes are often embroidered, which one could also do with these berry basket snowflakes,…

Simple Hanukkah Kid’s Craft That Steals The Show!
Here’s a fun idea for turning your kid’s drawings into cute holiday decorations, and not only does it only take a few minutes, but it sure beats putting them on the fridge! And once the holiday or occasion is over, you can simply remove the lights and store flat until next year. And before you know it you just might have a whole gallery full of fun kid’s art to pull out any time. It also just occurred to me to gently remind you as well that when we make an effort to show our kids how much we love their art, they’ll be encouraged to make more! Okay, lets…

Crocheted T-Shirt Yarn Star Trivet
I originally posted this fun gift idea in 2016, and it still looks great, so dusting it off to share once again, enjoy! It is pouring rain outside and I have the luxury of spending a few days to do some crafting for Chanukah, and the first thing that came to mind was to try and use up all the t-shirt yarn that I have (so that I can justify buying more, of course!) and that is how these crochted star trivets were born, and I just love them! This is a quick gift to whip up in multiples for holiday giving and would be perfect together with an assortment of…

Paper Quilling Crafts For Hanukkah: A House Shaped Gift Box
This is the last quilling for Hanukkah craft that I’m reposting, I hope you’ve enjoyed this little series, I’m inspired myself to revisit quilling, or at least turn square boxes into houses with my simple trick! Hmmm, then again just a bit more effort results in something amazing, so I may just have to add quilling to my list for this year’s Hanukkah crafts. In the mean time, here is my previous post: A house shaped gift box is so simple to make using a recycled packing box, and looks great for so many occassions! Who wouldn’t wan’t to make a gift box that is also a really great…

Drinking Straw Starbursts Make Perfect Birthday Centerpieces
Here it is, the simplest birthday centerpiece with the greatest WOW value, drinking straw starbursts! And best of all, they aren’t just for birthdays, I just realized if you have gold or silver straws you could actually make some drinking straw starbursts worthy of a wedding, an anniversary or any event that requires a touch of elegance, really! This is a quick project that makes zero mess, could be done on the site of the party, and saved in a a big box for another use. (And yes, please don’t toss them, they are not environmentally friendly.) I could see these starburst straw decorations being hung in a stairwell vertically,…
