I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and if you are like me you just might be having a hard time getting back that creative energy that we all love to infuse into our everyday? Pre-chanukah I did a lot of crocheting that I just can't seem to find the time to photograph so I'm going to get things rolling here in 2017 with some fun winter crafts that are also perfect for the next Jewish holiday, Tu B'Shevat, the New Year for the trees! Crafting with oranges can only produce great things, whether it be wonderful smells as in the case of orange clove pomanders, orange tea lights…

Super Simple Havdalah Spice Pouch Is Perfect For The Holidays!
This simple havdalah spice pouch project is perfect to give as a little party favor this holiday season, and fun to whip up as well. For those who aren't familiar with havdalah, it is the ceremony that is performed Saturday night to usher out the 25 hour period we call shabbat or shabbos. In the havdalah ceremony three blessings are made on material things, one on wine, one on fire, and one on spices. And now you know the answer: tea cup pincushion! It really is just as cute as can be, and useful to boot! You can glue the cup to the plate, or better yet, don', as the plate becomes a useful catchall when you are in the middle of a sewing project. Want to make one? It is really so very simple, love that!

A DIY Paper Plant That Is Simply Lovely: Agave!
Paper plants are all the rage, and understandably so as they are so simple to make and look amazing. Not to mention great for those who don't have time to take care of the real thing! i happen to have a virtual jungle both indoors and out, but I still appreciate the paper plant idea for its whimsy. There are a lot of folk out there making paper cactuses, but I think I'm the first to make a paper agave. Though many (mostly Australians, where agaves grow in droves) have success growing them in water indoors, the agave is really an outdoor plant, so a paper one certainly is a…
