Origami Jumping Frogs For The Passover Seder
With the Jewish holiday of Passover arriving on Saturday night, ready or not, now might be the time to spend just a few minutes making a cute craft to grace your Passover seder table? I’ll admit, despite high hopes of totally cleaning out my studio, I am exhausted right now and will settle for almost organized, not including cabinets! And of course there are other areas in the house that need attention, not to mention the container garden, though I don’t think I’ll get to that before the holiday, we have been having huge rain and dust storms for two days! As far as that studio of mine, it will…

A Giant Origami Clown Dressed Up As A Bird, For Purim!
I am reposting this because it is one of my all time favorites, and really festive. Plus you can use wrapping paper that you have hanging around, and it is the perfect size to put on your front door. Enjoy, and excuse me while I go figure out what decorations to make this year? Truthfully, the house is already decorated with lots of plastic bag pom poms and all my winter crafting, so it already looks like Purim, but there are a few things I’d like to fit in, on the other hand the art is calling! A giant origami clown makes a great decoration for the front door especially…

Origami Fruit For Tu B’Shevat!
Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish New Year for fruit bearing trees is next Wednesday night, so now is a great time to get crafting with a fruit theme in mind! I’ve dusted off these origami fruit from the archives, as this is a favorite that I revisit year round, not just for Tu B’Shevat, but also for Rosh HaShana and Succot, in the form of apples! Of course, a cute centerpiece like this one, with origami fruit in a variety of festive colors will be just the theme to set a festive tone for this really special holiday, and of course if you’d prefer a mobile would be amazing as well.…

Origami Dove For Chanukah
Chanukah starts tomorrow night, and I am running behind with my plans for origami decorations, but I did manage to make a few origami doves with olive branches to share with you, and hopefully my plans for an origami wall hanging, origami cake toppers (for a birthday tomorrow night on the 1st night of Chanukah) and an origami garland or two will materialize tonight. I am actually thinking that this origami dove would be great done in my giant origami style, so stay tuned for that, which seems much more likely than a wall hanging, hmmmm. Origami is a great craft for all ages, and it is something one can…

Origami Star Of David In 3 Minutes!
If you are folding some origami dreidels then you might just want an origami star of david or 20, to make a Chanukah garland or mobile. I looked into all the ways that one can make an origami star of david, and even stopped part way through the 15 minute folding adventure, as I need origami elements that can be made fairly quickly. So presenting the three minute origami star of David, that can really be made in 3 minutes, once you get the folding sequence down pat. Now, I do have to say, that while I am generally not interested in promoting creative activities that require perfection, origami unfortunately…
