Simple DIY Crepe Paper Flowers To Make Now!
I was just thinking that I should make some tissue paper flowers like those that used to grace our Purim table years ago, but it turns out so much time has passed that I actually just realized that the most successful flowers were made from crepe paper! Yes, tissue paper is wonderful too, and I have used it numerous times for flowers, but there is something about the crepe paper and its texture that just makes the whole project that much lovelier. Hmmm, wonder where those flower are now, they would look great hanging with all the white pom poms now hanging from that light! So here is the post I wrote last year: It is still the Jewish holiday of Tu B’Shevat in…

Wishing You Wonderful Shavuot!
Dear Readers, wishing you all a wonderful and meaningful holiday of Shavuot! Just in time for the holiday in which we decorate our homes and synagogues with greenery and flowers, my container garden has come alive, and I took a few minutes to photograph my dwarf bougainvillea in bloom to share with you! A close look reveals that bougainvillea actually have tiny white flowers within the colorful magenta (or orange, white, or reddish) petals, reminding us that like the Torah, true beauty comes from within, and just as we received the Torah on a small humble mountain, Mt. Sinai, so too truth can be found in the most humble places!…

Simple Watercolor Ferns For Shavuot!
I shared these watercolor fern paintings with you last year for the Jewish holiday of Tu B”Shevat, though i just had to share them again as they are so simple and perfect for the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, coming up this Saturday night. We fill our homes with greenery for Shavuot, which means flowers, plants, and often the kids go out into the fields and collect anything that seems appropriate. This year the holiday of Shavuot is back to back with Shabbat, meaning we will have to decorate the house on Friday afternoon, ruling out all that fresh greenery, and possibly even flowers, as they just won’t look all that…
