Blue And White Marshmellow Skewer Party Favor For A Bar Mitzvah Or Hanukkah?
The other night I dropped by to wish the parents of a boy in my son’s class mazel tov on their son’s bar mitzvah, and of course I had to have a look at what the mother, who is the baking queen, whipped up for this special occassion. Truthfully I didn’t look too closely as I am saying no to sugar, but I did love these blue and white marshmellow skewers, that looked great and are so simple to whip up, even a week or more before the special occasion. As I have stated before, we don’t buy candy generally but for a bar mitzvah, and we have one coming…

These DIY rope covered apples are so simple to make that you can surely whip up a whole bowl full in an hour or so. Of course if you start calling all your friends to tell them about this great craft you found, well that may just increase your crafting time, so I’d say craft and then tell! Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday!
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, the Succot hoiiday edition! We are in the middle of the seven (8 outside Israel) day holiday that involves eating and sleeping in our temporary dwelling, called a succah. It is a glorious holiday, especially in Israel, and as you can imagine a very crafty one too….at least the preparations, as once the holiday begins we put the crafting on hold in order to truly dwell in our succah! I was inspired to create lots of new decorations this year, many didn’t even make it into the succah in the end, thanks to the great contributions here on craft schooling Sunday! And…

Cinnamon Roll Cake Pops For The Dessert Bar Are Perfect In A Pinch!
Okay dear readers, I'm off sugar and flour entirely so I'm trying to post this fantastic idea for making cinnamon roll cake pops that look like lollipops without really looking too closely at the photos, and with the idea that while certainly I'm not encouraging folks to eat un-healthfully, sometimes you've just gotta bake that cake or make that special dessert for your child's birthday, a special event in school or important family occasion. If you're like me, and you're trying to mend your ways in the sugar department it may just be advisable to skip the baking and just assemble something from bakery bought items……..and that is where this…

Square Wreath With Felt Flowers Is Sweet Anytime!
The Jewish holiday of Shavuout starts tonight, and our door is decorated with this sweet little square wreath adorned with felt flowers! (A little disclaimer: door wreaths are decidedly un-Jewish if you delve into their origin, and I generally try not to use the word wreath, but for the sake of folks finding this post, well I just couldn't think of another word that would suffice.) Round floral wreaths are a symbol of military funerals and memorial day, so I went with a fun variation of a square wreath which actually reminds me of a trellis, perfect! This project came about as I had a bunch of felt chrysanthemum flowers…

A Ten Minute Felt Chrysanthemum Made From A Strip
The Jewish holiday of Shavuous, (in which, among other traditions, we decorate our homes with flowers and greenery to celebrate the receiving of the Torah on Mt. Sinai) is tomorrow night, so with the idea of some really large felt flower napkin rings for our holiday table in mind, yet not a lot of time, I knew I needed a felt flower that would be quick to make and great looking! A quick felt flower is without a doubt one made by rolling a strip of felt, yet that are many variations on the technique with quite different looking results. (I've made felt rose buds, way back when, another flower…
