Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday!
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! Phew, we made it to the other side of the Red Sea, figuratively, and our Passover holiday zoomed by despite being the most relaxing holiday ever, as the cooking and general day to day food prep was so much simpler. Not to mention that the Corona quarantine has enabled us to do things we wouldn’t do in the past, like get the teen boys to do the dishes! Now that Passover is behind us, there is this strange feeling of now what? Prep for the holiday and the holiday itself kept us occupied for a good 3 weeks,…

Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, Passover edition, thanks so much for joining me here! Here in Israel our Passover holiday is different from the rest of the world, as we only have one Seder night, (phew!) while everyone else who observes Jewish law makes a Seder on a second night as well. When I lived in the USA I couldn’t imagine having only one Seder, it seemed like deprivation, and now that I’ve been living in Israel for 20 years I can’t imagine having two Seders! I am writing this on Thursday night, and while those outside of Israel who observe Jewish law are now in the middle of a…

Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday
WHOOPS, for all those who came on Saturday night, sorry I neglected to past the code for the party. such is life in these crazy times……. Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! What can I say? At the moment I am grateful for my own health and that of all my family in these scary Corona virus times. I am grateful for the home that is large enough to give everyone their space, the large porch with a stunning mountain view, and the fact that we live in a somewhat remote town (still 35,000 people) that has up until now been largely spared from…

Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! I am now more grateful than ever for this virtual get together and hoping that everyone is well. These are scary and uncertain times, and the perfect opportunity to work on things that were previously not possible. So much is totally out of our hands, so rather than worry, learn something new, delve into a creative activity that you’ve been wanting to try, do acts of kindness, and most importantly work on strengthening family bonds that may need some attention. Here in Israel what seemed like drastic acts on the part of the government early on are hopefully…

Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, and thanks so much for joining me here! After a very festive Purim holiday, and the big clean up afterwards, Passover and all the big spring cleaning is now very much a reality. The only problem is that everyone is understandably caught up in the Corona virus happenings. For those of use who love creativity, enforced time at home isn’t a huge worry, but of course world health certainly is. I am happy to say that the Israeli government is taking extreme measures to curtail any spread of the virus by enforcing a new set of very strict rules, especially regarding school (school and university…

Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! Tuesday night is the very festive holiday of Purim, and I fortunately was able to take the decorations I made for our women’s party and use them at home, yippee! That means a bit less pressure, or more time to whip up delicious food for hosting those 25 people? Of course that is just the number of folks we’ve invited, there will be many more dropping by all afternoon. For Purim we also give gifts of food, and I’ll be repeating last year’s effort with a nice selection of Morocannish salads, which everyone enjoyed. Of course I need…
