Rosh HaShana Basket Of Blessings Craft For Kids (Or Anyone!)
Rosh HaShana, the Jewish New Year is in just a few days, so now is the time to dedicate a few hours to making wonderful cards to wish our family, friends and neighbors a wonderful new year, filled with blessings. And since the standard card may produce a bit of a yawn from the crafters in your home, why not do something special and make a Rosh HaShana basket of blessings? It is like a card, only a much more unique experience, since the pieces are removed from the basket in order to read them……and then of course the basket can be displayed as a decoration for the holiday! I…

Rustic Wire And Fabric Flower Craft
I saw this idea for making a rustic wire and fabric flower sculpture with a wine cork base on our travels just a few weeks ago, and I just had to share it with you! The idea of stitching fabric scraps onto a wire shape can be used in so many ways, to make flat ornaments for a wall hanging or mobile or to get a bit adventurous and go for something with dimension. I love the looseness of the results, and a flower sculpture like this one is not only a perfect summer craft, but also would be great moving into fall. As far as taking this idea as…

Crocheted Kitchen And Bath Scrubbies Using Recycled Potato Sacks!
Crocheting with recycled materials is something that I find oh so satisfying, and so you can well imagine that these crocheted kitchen and bath scrubbies made using recycled mesh potato sacks are one of my favorite little projects! With a bag full of potato sacks waiting to be used and a long bus ride to a friend's wedding at hand, this became a fun take-along crochet project, yippee! These scrubbies are great to have on hand, whether for using in the kitchen (I use these as dishwashing sponges on shabbat) or in the bathroom, and you can make them using little scraps of left over yarn. What is not to…

Simple Recycled Cardboard Guitar Makes A Fun Addition To Any Party!
For my son's recent guitar themed birthday party I didn't have much of a plan, but I did want to decorate with as many cardboard guitars as i could possibly make in one day, and i just love how these turned out. Simple enough so that you can whip up a bunch, but at the same time really great looking and sophisticated enough to use for adult parties or gatherings of any kind. Make your guitar using a few layers of cardboard, add a strap, and use it as part of a costume or a child's toy. And of course they perfectly compliment the ice cream cone and guiltar party…

Ice Cream Cones And Guitars Party Garland Using Recycled Cardboard!
Make a fun garland that matches the theme of your party with just a few simple supplies, some simple line drawings and the more creativity the better, especially when it comes to making use of cardboard, paper and packaging that can all be put to great use! This ice creme cone and guitar birthday party garland came about quite simply because the pattern on the boxes of matza that we enjoyed this Passover had that gridded pattern, and ice cream cones came to mind, and the guitars are in keeping with the overall theme of guitars (as we surprised my son with a new guitar.) Surely an original combination and…

DIY Snowglobes Using Recycled Jars
Okay dear readers, here is it, my daughter's current number one favorite craft, made by her, photographed by me, and of course encouraged by me as well! DIY snow globes using recycled jars has been on my mind for months, and I keep wanting to make them for specific holidays and just never get around to it. Fortunately my daughter got bitten by the creative bug and finally decided to put those baby food jars and that glycerin waiting patiently in the cabinet to good use. We are just thrilled with the results and just need to find some more subject material to make some more! DIY snow globes can…
