Blooming Watercolor Poppies Centerpiece Is Festive And Very Budget Friendly!
I am totally in love with the watercolor poppies in a pot centerpiece, well one-sided centerpiece really, and I have already made two more! This idea, is something that you can play around with depending on your own needs, and there are so many ways to go! I actually made a small one using a small round plastic peanut butter tub, which would make an adorable teacher appreciation gift or a token of appreciaion for a neighbor, for example. Then again, making larger pots of poppies really doesn’t take that much more time, so go for it, as this burst of festive and artful color is a joyful addition anywhere…

Simple Balloon Cactus Is Perfect Anytime!
This balloon cactus party centerpiece idea is truly a keeper, and I will very likely be making many many more of these simple balloon cacti in the future. I tend to need ideas that can be made for 8 to 10 tables, on a budget, and this is perfect! I can’t take credit for this idea, but I can take credit for using egg cartons to make the cactus flowers, which I just love! I made these cactus balloons for my son’s birthday party this past shabbat, and since the parsha of the week was bamidbar (which means “in the dessert”) well, the cactus theme was just perfect! The truth…

Oatmeal Can Tzedaka Box Craft
A tzedaka box (charity box) made from an oatmeal can is just as cute as can be, and quite useful right now! As you may know, due to the Corona virus all the synagogues are currently closed, though prayer groups of up to 20 with proper distancing is permitted. While many neighbors have formed prayer groups from their balconies, we have formed one with the neighbors, which consists of my husband and my 2 teen boys from within our house (via a huge window that opens fully) and the neighbors gathered in a courtyard and on the stairs just outside this window. There is a custom to give charity before…

Ice Cream Cone Gift Tags From A Recycled Ice Cream Cone Box!
Ice cream cone gift tags from an ice cream cone box are just the cutest and one of the quickest recycling crafts ever! As I was trying to clear out all the recycling items that I hoard, including a lovely pink ice cream cone box from a certain Israeli brand, the idea struck and within minutes, voila, two ice cream cone gift tags were born! And oh so relevant as my daughter whipped up an amazing cake that I’ll be sharing next, (meaning there were some very photogenic cookies and candies to style the photo) making this week birthday week! In general I love saving graphics from boxes, especially vintage…

Super Quick Paper Lanterns That Can Light Up!
This year my Purim decorations are all about the quick factor, as with the festive holiday just around the corner, in addition to many guests and food prep, quick is all there is really time for. Ah yes, and the truth is that the decorations I will hang in my house were mostly made for our community Purim party which already took place, so that is a huge help at this point. So where does the need for quick come into play? Well, for that Purim party on Sunday night I had only Saturday night to make the decorations and about 1 1/2 hours to hang them, just before the…

Use Recycled Jars And Tissue Paper To Create Festive Lanterns!
There is nothing that quite compares to the results of simply applying tissue paper shapes to recycled jars with some glue! I have made many versions of this craft over the years, and I think this one is my all-time favorite, as it is just so happy! Speaking of happy we are now in the happiest month on the Jewish calendar, and the holiday of Purim is quickly approaching, so why not whip up some of these candle jars, or vases or you name it, now? Get yourself a nice selection of tissue paper, and enjoy. And if you find yourself requesting recycled jars from neighbors in order to craft…
