Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday!
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! With the Jewish Holiday season now under our belt, and Chanukah in the distance, maybe there is time for some creativity just because? Then again, I’m planning the birthday party of the year for a sweet seven year old (which fortunately we celebrate together with my husband’s birthday) so maybe I’ll just get started on that, because he is anticipating this event all year long. Over doing it with the birthday parties does set one up for having to keep it up until the teenage years, but hey, the photos years later are just too special, and if…

Adorable Mini Torah Scrolls Craft
With the 7 days holiday (here in Israel, 8 elsewhere) ending tonight and the immediate transition into the holiday of Simchat Torah, this might be a craft to keep in mind for next summer, namely to make ahead, as honestly right now, we are still celebrating one holiday and can’t prepare crafts for the next! At the end of the day today we literally move our dining room table out of the Succah and into the house, and continue with the new holiday, which includes a very different schedule due to festive dancing with the sefer Torah in the synagogue, which literally goes on for hours! I am always sad…

Tips For Creating Greater Financial Security To Avoid Stress!
Above: My succah, the year that I was frugal with both time and money by re-using the decorations from my son’s bar mitzvah celebration! Raising a family is expensive, period. Jewish families, especially those who live by Torah values, face an increasing cost of raising their families while living a kosher lifestyle. Besides the standard costs of raising a family, such as the high costs of buying a family home, Jewish families face specific costs like synagogue memberships, a kosher diet, the cost of Jewish days schools, and celebrating week long festivals like Succot.and passover. Practicing good financial habits can help maintain financial security and most importantly avoid the stress…

Moroccan Carrot and Moroccan Beet Salad For Your Rosh HaShana Table!
I posted this idea for incorporating some simple Moroccan dishes into your Rosh HaShana meal plan years and years ago, so I thought I’d give it the light of day once again, as they are tasty and beautiful! Carrots and beets are traditional foods that we eat each Rosh HaShana, so why not try something a little bit exotic this year? These recipes are classic Moroccan salads that are traditionally served as a salad appetizer course for any festive meal. Moroccans are famous for their salads, so these are just two of many types of salads that appear even on my own table! And don’t you just love these small…

Jerusalem Doodles For The Nine Days
I am currently mostly unplugged but have dusted this one off and taken it out of the archives as a great summer crafting activity for the Nine Days. T’isha B’Av, the saddest day on the Jewish calendar coming up next Sunday and the 8 days preceding the holiday are days of mourning in which we do not eat meat or drink wine (except on shabbat), cut our hair, have weddings or parties of any kind, or listen to music just to name some of the laws of the period. It is a challenge to remember the seriousness of this period during summer vacation, and the greatest reminder is to quite simply…
