Origami Heart That Is Simple For Kids Too!
It is true, we do not celebrate Valentines Day, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy making some heart themed crafts to spread the love, and origami hearts seem truly perfect right about now! And the good news is that kids around 8 years old and up can make these origami hearts after some explanation from an adult. Most of the hearts you see here were actually made by my ten year old son, who once he got the hang of folding squares made from A4 paper, said "lets make a bunch." And that is coming from someone who knows nothing about the upcoming heart holiday, and is not seeing…

Origami Fruit
i'm so excited to share with you a super cute and super simple way to make a quick centerpiece, a fun place marker or a sweet mobile: origami fruit! Yes indeed, the same origami balloon shape that can be used to make origami string light covers can also be used to make adorable origami fruit in any color you like. These were made with a square made from letter sized paper, but much larger ones would work too, and if you make just four really large ones you can have a fantastic centerpiece in very little time. I'm planning on hanging these over our dining room table to celebrate…

Tu B’Shevat Tissue Paper Luminaries Craft
Celebrate Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish new year for the trees, with fun tea light holders that are so simple to make, you can whip up a whole orchard for your holiday table !! Tu B'Shevat celebrations include a festive meal where an array of fresh and dried fruits are eaten. Kids can help make this day even more special with some fun tissue paper collage on recycled jars that depicts citrus fruits in the orchard, and adding a few animals and characters brings the cuteness up a notch, don't you think? So soak the labels off those jars you've been saving, get out the tissue paper, and let the fun…

Another Handpainted Poster, This Time All By Himself!
This large sign that my son painted says "Yom Huledet Sameach" meaning happy birthday, and I am sharing his sweet wishes for a family birthday to make a point, which is that sometimes when parents do a project together with a child, like the Hanukkah poster we painted together, it gives the child enough confidence to then go and do something similar all by themselves, yippee! I was so happy when he agreed to do everything himself this time. I did advise him on the scale of certain objects and he needed advice as far as what colors to use, but other than that, it is all his.

Geometric Woven String Star Gift Toppers And Place Cards
Geometric string stars are so fun to weave, and they also happen to look great at gift toppers and gift tags! I just love how they look on my hand stamped olive branch wrapping paper, and if you're making them for your own family, well, you can save them afterwards to make a geometric string star garland!

Cereal Box Menorahs Made By 2nd Graders!
Aren't these cereal box menorahs made by some second grade boys from the Western Galil in Israel just the cutest? They were made as part of a crafting hour for a group of five boys, and with the help of two mothers, and using my Hanukkah menorah template printable. I really love how they took the idea of using cereal box cardboard and decided to make the cereal box graphics the decoration, true pop art! I do wonder whether that decision was based on the fact that the 45 minutes they spent making these was enough crafting time, or whether it was truly an aesthetic decision. We will never know,…
