How To Make Simple Paper Pinwheels While Cleaning For Passover
At this point most folks have done the bulk of the necessary cleaning for Passover, (or maybe they are closing up their homes and heading to family or on vacation) and if not they are certainly not taking time to peek at my blog, as Passover starts on Friday night and there is soooo much to do for this 7 day (8 days outside Israel) holiday. So if you are reading this, either you don’t celebrate Passover, or you are ready to do some quick crafting before the holiday, so lets do it! While of course pinwheels aren’t exactly traditional Passover symbols, why not? The spinning of the pinwheel represents…

With Passover coming up on Friday night, now is the time to keep the kids busy with fun crafts to celebrate Passover, or maybe even make some yourself? This Passover paper dolls craft in which the dolls are actually the four cups of wine was done by a group of boys during a weekly crafting session, and I just love the results, even five years later! So yes, this is a craft I’ve pulled from the archives as honestly I am just way too busy to do any crafting right now! I have set aside some paper and a vintage book with guides for making animals, which I hope to…

How To Make Origami Pinwheels While Spring Cleaning
Origami pinwheels, also referred to as origami windmills, are simple to make and a great way to make some spring decorations while also using up bits of scrapbooking or other paper you have hanging around collecting dust! I love making origami from wrapping paper, so that is game as well, as are recycled magazine pages and just about anything thin enough to fold. I came across this two sheets of A4 sized bubble wrap printed paper that I made a good twelve years ago, and instead of tossing it I decided to make some origami pinwheels, and I just love how cheerful they are. In the mean time, a huge vase of flowers can instantly transform any table or room into a party, so these are perfect for Purim, especially when there are so many other things to make, at least in our house. Now I have…

Giant Origami Apples Are Perfect For Any Party
A few weeks ago, just after the holiday of Tu B’Shevat I needed to make some simple centerpieces for a community women’s party, and I decided to try my hand at making a giant version of my origami apples and fruit. Fortunately the results were fantastic, especially with the addition of some gold leaves, and the same centerpieces were re-used a few days later at a shabbos Brit, which is perfect. Now, if your gears are turning, great, just know that there is a size limit to these origami fruit, namely the width of your paper, and once they get large folding the paper isn’t difficult, but expanding the shape…
