Craft Scraps Party Plates That Kids Can Make Too!
Purim sameach, wishing you all a very joyful and meaningful Purim holiday! Today was a day filled with crafting by mom and three kids, in preparation for Purim and all the elements required to really celebrate this very festive and very action packed holiday. My ten year old is still working on his 20 milk carton characters which he is filling with treats for friends, and my 12 year old son mades these oh so sweet decorated party plates using bits of craft foam. Decorating plates with little scraps is so much fun, and perfect for kids who may not be so inclined to sit for hours making little milk…

Piece Of Cake Pinata Style Gift Box
Okay my friends, when it comes to creating a knock your socks off kind of gift box, this one really is a piece of cake! Pinata style party decorations using crepe paper are all the rage, and so this idea, namely an upcycled box covered pinata style in crepe paper strips to resemble a piece of cake, is right on target. And best of all, if your box is on the small side like mine, it really doesn't take a huge chunk of time, phew! So next time a nice little box comes your way, save and turn it into the funnest gift box or party favor box ever! I…

Packing Peanuts And Cardboard Stars Craft
When I received a box filled with packing peanuts I immediately started thinking about how I'd use them for a craft project, and the first thing that came to mind was packing peanut stars. Of course, I actually thought I'd make the entire star out of packing peanuts, but with no real plan in mind, these fun stars are what actually came to be! The stars are quite large (the cardboard circle in the middle is from a family sized frozen pizza package) and fortunately turned out to be pefect decorations for the stage of our community Purim party this week. My only regret is that I only had time…

Origami Fruit
i'm so excited to share with you a super cute and super simple way to make a quick centerpiece, a fun place marker or a sweet mobile: origami fruit! Yes indeed, the same origami balloon shape that can be used to make origami string light covers can also be used to make adorable origami fruit in any color you like. These were made with a square made from letter sized paper, but much larger ones would work too, and if you make just four really large ones you can have a fantastic centerpiece in very little time. I'm planning on hanging these over our dining room table to celebrate…

DIY Super Simple Cupcake Stand
When you find plastic bowls and plates in retro modern colors at IKEA that are totally cheap and can be used to make the most adorable little cupcake stands, well who can resist? Certainly not me! And the only reason that these bowls and plates remained way up high in my kitchen cabinet for a few months was that I just didn't have the right little dessert that would work with them. (My daughter made these mini cupcakes in her new multi use cupcake cakepop waffle iron that is working really well.) Of course these DIY cupcake stands would look great as catchalls on a desk or sideboard too, if…

Chinese Style DIY Paper Lanterns Make Perfect Party Decorations
Festive paper lanterns using the simplest of supplies, colored paper, are so simple to make, and with gorgeous results, especially if you choose the right paper and colors that really pop! I made around forty or so Chinese-style paper lanterns for a community event, and I really didn't know exactly where they would hang or how I'd use them on-site, so I figured one can never go wrong with lots of brilliant color, and I just kept making lanterns, in different sizes and colors until I had run out of all the giant sheets of paper I had purchased. Check out the lanterns in progress on my living room floor…
