Hello Prague: The Historic Charles Bridge
Almost exactly one year ago my daughter, my daughter in law, and I had the great pleasure of a 9 days in Prague girl’s get together, which was an incredible experience, not to mention a very photogenic one! I really didn’t know all that much about Prague before our trip, and did most of my learning once there via the amazing brochures and booklets available at the tourist information office. I’m embarrassed to say that before planning our trip I had never even heard of the Charles Bridge, nor much about Prague except that it is the burial place of the Maharal of Prague, a famous Jewish figure. Boy was…

Hello Prague: The Gorgeous Bridges Of Prague
At long last I have found the time to share with you photos of our trip to Prague, which happened LAST Rosh HaShana, for a glorious 9 days! Yes, indeed a whole year ago and I’m just now going over the photos……life is busy and editing photos can happen anytime (unlike somethings that need attention immediately), so just glad that is it finally happening! And I’m thinking that a bit of arm chair travel would be great for everyone right about now, so I’ll be dedicating many posts to sharing photos of our trip. Truthfully looking at the photos now is so inspiring and I can’t believe we actually visited…

Welcome To Craft Schooling Sunday
Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! I type this on Thursday night as the lovely Jewish holiday of Succot comes to an end on Friday sundown (in Israel, elsewhere there is another full day) though there is no time to be sad, as tomorrow right before the end of the day, Friday, we need to bring our dining room table out of the succah and back into the dining room, as not only is it shabbat, it is also another holiday called Simchat Torah, which is generally very festive with long hours spent dancing with the sefer Torahs in the synagogue among many other…

Goodbye To Our Morocco Meets Recycling Crafts Succah, Until Next Year…….
Today is the last day of the Jewish holiday of Succot, here in Israel, where we celebrate the holiday for 7 lovely days. Elsewhere the holiday is 8 days. While I am always a bit sad to say goodbye to the succah, we actually can’t take it apart until Saturday night/Sunday as the holiday goes right into another holiday, called Simchat Torah. Our succah is constructed in the entrance courtyard of our home, so truthfully I still get to enjoy it for another day or so. While this year has been a quiet and restful holiday, I somehow did not find time to photograph my succah properly! I did of…

Super Simple Fall Centerpiece With Painted Faux Apples
If you happen to have a bunch of blank apples made for crafting, just waiting for their turn in the spotlight, as I did, paint them in your favorite colors, add some white details with a paint pen, place them in a footed glass bowl, and voila, a fun Fall, Rosh HaShana, Succot, or even Tu B’Shevat centerpiece is born! Ah yes, and this would make a fun teacher appreciation gift as well! Truthfully apples painted in your favorite colors can be used any time to bring joy into your home, so while I did make this for our series of Jewish holidays in the Fall, it would look great…

DIY Tree Branch With Colorful Leaves Wall Art
We are now on the third day (of seven) of the wonderful Jewish holiday of Succot, and while I am not doing any crafting, I can stop by here to share my favorite succah decoration with you! And, unlike some Succah decorations, this one is truly a work of art, and can be used year round indoors, or for a special event or to mark a new season. You decide, but if you are anything like me, you won’t want to stop at just one, which I did not! After making the first version, a tree of life with gold leaves, I just had to make another colorful version with…
