Five Minute Cake Decorations In A Pinch!
One of my dear nephews from New York was coming for his last shabbat with us before heading back to the USA after a two year stint in Israel, so I just had to make him a good-bye cake! The only problem was that the house had been turned upside down with Pesach cleaning, we had some construction done which added a layer of ground dust to the upside down state, I had to go to a Bar Mitzvah celebration Thursday night, we were loosing a hour due to turning the clocks ahead………oh, and of course the cake and the cake decorations had to be made before sundown on Friday,…

Simple Gift Tags From Paper Scraps
With Purim still fresh in my memory, one of the things that always stresses me out on the very festive and busy holiday is making gift tags at the last minute, as well as wrapping up gifts in celophane, yuck. This year I de-stressed myself by personally delivering homebaked and prepared foods on a sweet cake stand I'd made……no need for wrapping or a gfit card, and it was so much fun! That said, i could have used a few ready to use gift tags, and so I am now committing to spending this year using all my little scraps of paper for making fun gift tags, which I'm am…

Collage Using Crafting Paper Scraps
Ever felt bad about tossing all those scraps of paper left over from a big crafty project? Well I sure do, and so this time I decided to make a few quick collages with all those fun shapes and bits of shiny or glittery paper left over from making a bunch of Purim castles. One of the pieces I'll use to make some gift tags, and the other pieces I've already used as part of my pizza box top robots! So next time you've got a bunch of little bits and bobs, why not craft with them, and who knows the results might must be truly fantastic!

Recycled Pizza Box Top Robots For Purim
The Jewish holiday of Purim starts this coming Saturday night (Sunday night for those living in Jerusalem proper) so lets turn up the heat and get crafting! These cute pizza box top robot clowns are just one idea to get you inspired. For starters, take a look around the house and use what you have on hand — the very best way to really truly get creative without having to run to the store, and spend time (and money) unnecessarily! And truly, these robots came about literally on account of the above advice. Last Tuesday I was working hard making decorations for a community Purim party, and my kids were…

DIY Simple Paper Poppies
It is purely by accident that this post showing you how to make wonderful paper poppies in just a few simple steps follows my post sharing with you the real thing now in bloom on our grassy hillsides! I actually made these simple DIY paper poppies two weeks ago for a women's gathering in our community, and well, as you know life is busy and at present time I only get around to photographing maybe half of what I actually make! I'm hoping the other half will eventually end up in a book or series of some kind, but don't hold your breath as I haven't been able to magically…

Paper Collage Craft For Kids Of All Ages
This past week when one of my very favorite four year olds came for a visit, and I was called upon to do a craft with him (because our last craft, origami boats was so very successful that he took the whole box of boats with him to school!) I pulled out a pile of paper and the few supplies I could actually find amongst my piles of previous projects (sigh) and figured we would just wing it! I had thought of doing some origami again, but those piles were blocking the bookcase in my crafting room, and I really didn't want to involve my good old computer in this…
