DIY Cardboard Roosters Make Perfect Party Decor!
I am reposting this DIY cardboard rooster craft because, well they are just too cute to sit in the archives, are relatively easy to make, and what could be more fun than a few giant roosters in your home just in time for Purim? Ever thought about using some recycled cardboard to make some fun cardboard roosters? Truthfully, I hadn’t either, but after making a black rooster and a white rooster, well I just want to make some more. I made them to use as stage props in a school play, but they’d look great in a child’s room, or even in your kitchen, so have some fun and make…

Simple Painted Treat Boxes From The Recycling Bin!
We are about to apparently welcome some snow so I’ll make this quick as I need to go cover my succulents and bring others indoors! I have quite a collection of little food and medicine boxes that I hope to use someday for a big installation of some kind, not to mention match boxes, but in the mean time, there is nothing quite as sweet as little painted treat boxes. (Or just make some artufl painted matchboxes for shabbat, a fun gift!) Purim is a great time to get creative with fun and artful packaging, so why not gather as many boxes as you can find, get out the paint…

Doodle Fish Gift Tags
Okay dear readers, it is time to face the facts, the Jewish holiday of Purim is coming up in exactly two weeks, so now is the time to get started with the preparations! This year I think I’ll start with the thing that I generally run out of time for at the end, gift tags! Yes indeed, start with the seemingly simplest thing, and believe me you will not regret it. In the flurry of preparing the mishloach manot (gifts of food), whether you do it on Purim or a few days ahead of time, (more likely this year as Purim is on Friday!) having adorable gift tags on hand…

Acrylic Paint Skin Leftovers Can Be Used In Crafting!
I’ve been meaning to share these amazing looking remnants of dried paint that I removed from my grided plastic paint palette for a good month, and since everything has its time, the day has arrived! As you may or may not be aware, paint can be expensive, and not great for your pipes or water supply when washed down the sink, so those who are concerned with the environment at the very least let their paint leftovers dry and then toss them in the garbage, hopefully. I never have left over paint because I use it to paint the next page in my sketchbook, or cover a milk carton or…

Trees In Bloom On A Milk Carton Craft!
Tonight is the wonderful Jewish holiday of Tu B’Shevat, so it is time to get crafting, either to create decor for the holiday, or as an activity to honor the holiday. After all, whimical paintings of trees in bloom gracing milk cartons is something one can certainly enjoy for a good few months? I just love painting on milk cartons because the results are ready to display and honestly it is just so darn cute, and unexpected, a great combination! Last week I shared milk carton row houses with heart graffiti, and now I’m sharing almond trees in bloom painted on the rejects from the previous project, which is a…

Milk Carton Houses With Graffiti Hearts!
I really can’t count the times I’ve planned to make milk carton houses, nor how many milk cartons I have packed away in the basement for those dream projects, but I can report to have taken one tiny step forward with these milk carton heart graffiti wall houses! I realize it sounds like I’ve never made milk carton houses, silly me, I certainly have, twice, milk carton house planter, and doodled millk carton houses. I’ve been all about hearts lately, and while the hearts I’ve been painting haven’t exactly been graffiti hearts, lets just pretend they are, and certainly when painted on a milk carton house they can be! And…
