Crocheted Rustic Fruit Basket To Make From Old T-Shirts
What can I tell you? I just adore this little crocheted basket that I made using yarn from some of my boy's old t-shirts and striped polo style shirts. And in my humble opiinion one can never really have too many baskets, and fun rustic ones like this add a really nice seasonal touch, especially for fall. Dont you just love persimmons, I'm already lamenting the day when they'll no longer be in season……but I digress. The yarn that I make from t-shirts is never as thin as the commercial t-shirt yarn, which means that you can actually make a much sturdier basket with your cast offs! Like some more…

Crocheted Granny Hexagon Join As You Go Blanket
Once upon a time I shared with you a crocheted hexagon blanket in progress, and somehow never got around to photographing the finished item. So now, three years later, and just in time for your holiday and winter crochet project planning, I present to you the Crccheted Granny Hexagon Join As You Go blanket. This fits a twin bed, but a smaller (and quicker) version would make a fantastic baby blanket. You can do the hexagons as solids, or go for a polka dot look, or both as I've done. One disclaimer: the only reason that I ended up making solid hexagons around the border of the blanket is that…

SIMPLE CROCHETED GIFT POUCHES
Crocheted gift pouches are the perfect little something to whip up during the holiday season, so I've pulled some of my projects from the archives to give you some inspiration. I have been known to crochet little projects like this in the car to give upon arrival, so you certainly can too, especially if you have a few good hours! Gather up some odds and ends from your stash and some hooks in a few sizes too, and with my patterns to boot, you're all set. And even if you don't complete the little pouches on the way, little ones especially would delight in seeing you whip something up just…

Crocheted Vase Using T-Shirt Yarn
A quick crocheted vase using some scraps of t-shirt yarn (to make it super quick!) and either a glass or plastic bottle with a wide mouth is the perfect summer project! Fill your crocheted vase with cuttings from plants, like heart shaped philodendron and pathos that can grow in water, or gather some wild flowers and enjoy. The rustic feeling of the large stitch makes it perfect for use indoors and out, not to mention that this project is a great stash buster, so go ahead and use up all those odds and ends! Come winter a crocheted vase like this is pastel colors looks great filled with branches, but…

Crocheted Basket With Plastic Strawberry Basket As A Base!
Want to make a super cute crocheted basket that will keep its shape without stiffener? Try crocheting over a recycled plastic strawberry basket, and you'll love the results so much you'll certainly want to make a whole bunch, I know I'm not stopping at three! I haven't seen this idea anywhere, so please do give me credit for it if you're inspired to make your own, and actually this came about as a result of now quite succeeding with my original idea, which was something totally different! Love when that happens! One could of course use any really chunky yarn for this, but I just love the results with the…

Crocheted T-Shirt Yarn Stool Cover
Crocheting a stool cover with commercial t-shirt yarn is one of my all time favorite projects. It goes really quickly, and the results are wonderful! (Okay, I'll admit, these are not my favorite colors, but am trying to use up everything I have….a few years back t-shirt yarn was scarce in Israel so I bought whatever colors I found!) Plus, because the t-shirt yarn is stretchy, the cover can be made to fit exactly on your stool, like a shower cap of sorts, whereas stool covers made with regular yarn do generally need a draw string in order for the cover to sit tightly on the stool. This pattern only…
